Deerfield Beach: Cove center face-lift topic of 4 workshops

It is a proposal so complex that four workshops are slated to discuss it.

Meetings on the long-awaited face-lift for the Cove Shopping Center get under way Aug. 20, and organizers are hoping residents turn out for what they are calling “visioning work groups.”

“The purpose of the charrette is to gather everyones input,” said Carlos Baia, the citys economic development manager.

The improvement project, coordinated through the citys Community Redevelopment Agency, will focus on upgrading the architectural facade, enhancing landscaping, adding safe pedestrian walkways and redesigning the parking lot.

Workshops are set for 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 20; noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 21; 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 22; and 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 23. All will be at Royal Fiesta Caterers, 1680 SE Third Court.
