Florida City Redevelopment Area increases in size
Florida City commissioners approved Tuesday expanding the citys Community Redevelopment Area by 50 percent, from 490 to 744 acres.
The original area consisted of improving mainly commercial and industrial sites to contribute to the growth of Florida Citys tax base.
Now the citys Community Redevelopment Agency wants to pay attention to other areas that need infrastructure and other improvements.
The only thing we are trying to do is create possibilities, the agencys director, Rick Stauts, said, referring to how the CRA can invest funds in the redevelopment area.
