Comprehensive Plans and Amendments
City of Doral
IPG, in association with Kimley-Horn & Associates, completed the new City of Doral’s first comprehensive plan and land development regulations. The comprehensive plan focuses on increased infrastructure efficiency, creating a new community, and balanced land uses.
Town of Miami Lakes
IPG teamed with EDSA and Kimley-Horn & Associates in developing the first comprehensive plan for the Town of Miami Lakes. The plan addressed issues of urban design, as well as more traditional plan components. The project was completed within an 18 month timeframe, including extensive public involvement (11 workshops), and within budget.
City of Homestead
IPG updated the Homestead Comprehensive Plan, pursuant to mandatory state planning requirements in 1998. The Plan amendments were completed in 11 months and within budget. IPG has also been retained on an ongoing technical services basis to assist the community with planning, annexation and redevelopment efforts.
City of Sebastian
IPG updated the City of Sebastian’s comprehensive plan to include the following: 2000 census data, modifications to the Future Land Use Element and Map, and the development of a capital improvements project list.
Fort Lauderdale
IPG, in association with Duncan Associates and EDSA, prepared a comprehensive urban design plan for this major Florida city (population 230,000) with special emphasis on redevelopment of major transportation corridors and city neighborhoods. Planning and urban design of five (5) major corridors in the City were addressed.
City of Marco Island
IPG crafted the first Comprehensive Plan for the City of Marco Island. The City faced difficult planning issues and aging infrastructure. Issues covered in the comprehensive plan include enhancing Marco Island as a resort destination. This project was completed in 14 months and within budget.
City of Miramar
IPG completed the EAR-based amendments for the City of Miramar. Key issues in the EAR-based amendments included: Enhancing the quality of life for residents; improving neighborhood appearance; creating a master redevelopment plan for the 441 Corridor and East Miramar; Ensuring compatibility of industrial areas near neighborhoods; constructing a new City Hall complex; re-using existing City buildings for community needs; making City Hall business-owner friendly; promoting private investment in schools.
Village of Palmetto Bay
IPG, in association with Kimley-Horn & Associates, completed the Village of Palmetto Bay’s first comprehensive plan and land development regulations. Retaining a “small town” feeling, community identity, and parks and open space is the focus of the City’s comprehensive plan.
