Jackson M. Ahlstedt, P.E.

Traffic Engineer Associate

Mr. Ahlstedt is a highly regarded professional traffic engineer with over 30 years of traffic engineering, roadway design and transportation planning experience working with both the public and private sectors in northeastern United States and South Florida. His dedication to developing sound traffic patterns has guided him through the successful completion of many of projects in his career.

As a traffic engineer for IPG, Mr. Ahlstedt performs technical analyses for concurrency and growth management; site plan review; roadway access and circulation design. Mr. Ahlstedt also has expertise in generating parking and operational studies; preparation of traffic sections and the design of traffic signalization, pavement markings and signage. He has performed a number of traffic studies and impact analyses for the following municipalities: North Bay Village, Deerfield Beach, Florida City, Miami Springs, Delray Beach, Town of Davie and Punta Gorda. Mr. Ahlstedt’s large public sector clientele spans the following counties: Charlotte, Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, Martin, St. Lucie, Lee and Charlotte counties. Several major projects he has completed include the preparation of the environmental document and the preliminary engineering report for improvements to Kendall Drive in Dade County, and the design of traffic signalization, pavement marking and singing for a section of I-595 in Broward County. Mr. Ahlstedt also served on the original Traffic Analysis Advisory Committee for the Dade County Impact Fee Ordinance and Manual.

In addition to his expertise in traffic engineering, design and planning, Mr. Ahlstedt has several civil engineering projects completed to his credit. These projects include the Barry University Sports Facility, Hangers 6 & 7 at Miami International Airport and the Opa-Locka Corporate Hangers.

Most recently, Mr. Ahlstedt has completed a traffic impact analysis for a 207 room hotel in Pompano Beach, and a 785 unit residential development in Florida City. In these development projects, his efforts involved extensive traffic analyses, including machine traffic counts; trip generation and distribution, manual turning movement count and level of service analysis.

Prior to joining IPG, Mr. Ahlstedt worked for Post Buckley Schuh & Jernigan where he was responsible for numerous transportation projects, including arterial roadways for major developments in Martin and St. Lucie counties, proposed interchanges on the Homestead Extension of the Florida Turnpike and site planning for major developments in Dade. He has also worked as a Project Manager for Howard Needles Tammen & Bergendoff where he was responsible for many projects, including the SR 112/Central Boulevard Connector, NW 36th Street Improvements, MIAD External Access Study and Concourse “J” Access System.
