Dobson has over 39 years economic development and sustainability experi­ence with local economic development councils, educational institutions, green building councils, nonprofit green organizations, alternative energy associations and societies, and national and international organizations. He has successfully led sustainable economic development agencies for several large communities, including Toledo, Ohio; Kansas City, Kansas; Detroit, Michigan and Washington, D.C.

Dobson has developed strategic urban ecosystem planning projects; been involved in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of complex sustainable development projects; integrated "green" technologies and techniques into community economic development projects; developed creative financing packages for public/private partnerships on sustainable development projects; and facilitated collaboration and the development of strategic alliances on energy-efficient development.

As the sustainable planning associate for IP, Dobson provides expert recom­mendations on projects requiring sustainable economic development initia­tives. His expertise serves to promote the development and implementation of sustainable "green" development policies, processes and programs, and to provide diversification and growth of local and regional economies via sustainable "green" energy innovations, industrialization, applications and green jobs creation.

Prior to joining IP, Dobson gained extensive sustainable economic develop­ment experience with the City of Toledo, the Port Authority of Kansas, the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, the Downtown Devel­opment Authority of Detroit, Michigan and the National Council for Urban Economic Development. His past experiences also include 10 years as the Director of the Division of Community and Economic Development of the University of Toledo.
