Mr. Miller is an AICP-certified planner with over 10 years of professional experience working with local governments and state agencies in the areas of development review, transportation, environment and growth management. As an avid outdoorsman, Mr. Miller has a highly developed appreciation for the environment, and the need for smart and sustainable development. These core beliefs guide all his work, and have shaped the development of his expertise in the areas of development review, land development regulations, and environmental planning. Several of the projects Mr. Miller works on with IPG have exemplified his core belief in the need for sustainable, feasible and environmentally responsible development. Examples include the development of an innovative set of land development regulations for the City of Miami Gardens, which encourage smart growth through incentives. These incentives include the granting of additional building height or density and intensity for such smart growth practices as the use of green site plan techniques and the provision of mixed use, workforce housing and shared parking. Mr. Miller’s belief in environmental preservation has helped shape the Town of Davie’s efforts to continue to achieve its vision of a community of immense natural resources through the EAR-Based Amendments to its Comprehensive Plan. Goals and policies which encourage the maintenance of existing parks and open spaces, require the development of a Parks and Recreation Master Plan, and direct the Town to interconnect the extensive system of parks and trails are provided throughout the EAR-Based Amendments. Mr. Miller’s core planning beliefs fit well with IPG’s corporate identity. As Senior Planner for IPG, Mr. Miller brings his experience and expertise to the work of developing municipal land development codes, preparing Evaluation and Appraisal Reports and related amendments, and providing expert analysis and support for IPG clients. Mr. Miller is also an experienced public speaker and communicator, who is often utilized to develop and present planning project proposals and presentations to potential clients and local government boards and staff. Prior to joining IPG, Mr. Miller gained valuable municipal planning experience with the City of Palm Beach Gardens, the Town of Jupiter, and the City of Fayetteville, Georgia. Mr. Miller’s primary responsibilities with those municipalities included the review of development proposals for consistency with local land development regulations, including several high profile, mixed-use projects. Mr. Miller also developed land use regulation amendments, provided expert advice and assistance to residents and developers, coordinated with the Natural Resources, Neighborhood Improvement and Main Street Historical Divisions, and made presentations before the municipal boards and local organizations. |
